BioWare Releases PC Performance Optimization Guide
If you have been to the forums lately you just might have noticed a few threads that contain players complaining about performance issues. Developers and maintenance teams have been working hard with players to find and fix the source of many of the performance issues they are experiencing when running SWTOR including, but not limited to; error codes, lows FPS, client crashes, and system errors. Today Avi Mintz, Associate Project Manager for the client engineer team, released a guide that her team compiled to help players optimize their PCs performance when running the game.
But do not think that is the end of the issue. Avi encourages players to continue talking with the team about any issues that they are experiencing when they run the game so that her team may continue to add to their optimization guide so everyone can get the best SWTOR experience possible. She also gives big thank to players who have given constructive feedback on the problems so far.
If you are having any performance issues then head over to the optimization guide and see if there are any tips in there that will help you out.

this article is a joke just like the so called guide released by bioware.
the “horrid fps thread” in the bioware customer forum is the 15th version, each including 100 pages with hundred thousand+ views. the community asked bioware for an explanation, why even high end rigs encounter major issues making the game unplayable in endgame content. the guide that followed was a damn joke, nothing more than an explanation of the ingame graphical settings, they treated their customers like mentally retarded children. and even changing those settings isn’t going to affect performance, because sw:tors engine is only utilizing around 20-30% of cpu and gpu. turn it to high, you’ll get 15fps in warzones, turn it to low – guess what? 15 fps in warzones! yet bioware says it’s on the customers end. they doomed this game themselves. the ship is sinking.
Hi Matthias,
Keep in mind that this is a news article, not a commentary on how BioWare is handling the issues at hand. Even if I was experiencing any of these issues (which I am not and neither are a large majority of the players in my guild or who I associate with) I still would have portrayed the message in the same manner as I did above. I know everyone wants a quick fix for this issue, who could blame them, but going on and on about how horrible BioWare is for not doing what you expected is not the answer. The quickest way to a solution is to continue to constructively share all the info you can about the problems you are experiencing with the development team so they can get the information they need to get things fixed.
Remember, constructive criticism is incredibly useful but whining is just noise.

Agreed on the constructive criticism part. Crying that something is broken doesn’t give Bioware any info how to fix it. Be patient, the game has been out a little over a month. And they HAVE fixed a lot of stuff already. Stop comparing it to fine tuned MMO’s that have been out for years.
