The Day
In less than 5 minutes servers for Star Wars: The Old Republic will go live and people will be able to create their permanent characters for the first time. This marks the end of an era. More than 3 years ago it was announced for the first time that a Star Wars MMO is in the making and that it is being made by Bioware. Ever since then I have been watching closely what is happening with this project. As time went by and more information became available I was sure that this is the next game I will devote myself to fully. I had no idea how much exactly. I made the first post about the Deceived trailer back in 2009 on a now defunct blog. June 2010 is when SWTOR Life officially went live. This means that we have been waiting for this moment for year and a half now.
In this time we managed to interview developers, visit Bioware in their HQ, report from conventions and we even managed to expand and bring you a fully functional SWTOR Database. There are two things I am proud of the most. One is the SWTOR Life crew. These are the people that decided to be a part of this site for no benefit at all except participating actively in the SWTOR community. I thank you so very much and love you with all my heart. This site would be a speck of dust in the desert if it wasn’t for you. Thank you Grant, Mick, Michael, Dalqak, Joshua, Rosie, Hawk and Morgaine. I would also like to thank James aka BorukBH that is not part of the staff anymore but contributed a great deal when he was. Thank you for being as awesome as you are!
I would also like to thank Derek aka SWTORCrafter for taking the plunge and deciding to partner up with me in this crazy endeavor.
With all of these people the future just looks brighter.
And the future holds lots and lots of playing Star Wars: The Old Republic. We will try and continue to bring high quality coverage of the game. Together with our Database we will be a complete source for all your SWTOR needs.
The second most important thing are you, our visitors. There have been more than half a million people that visited SWTOR Life while we all waited for the game. I thank each and every one of you and I hope you’ll stick around because the best is yet to come.
Now, start pressing that F5 key to see if the email for Early access has arrived. While you wait feel free to watch this fan made video that will set the mood perfectly and once you get in enjoy the wonderful worlds and stories Bioware created for us.
Yours Truly,
Srdjan and Nada Stanarevic

It’s been a pleasure taking the trip with you, boss. And this… is just the beginning.
I preorded 45 mins after the announcement was made and have yet to receive the email. I am wondering if anyone else has gotten it yet and I just missed out of the first wave today? If I did I figure I’ll see you all inside later today 🙂
i thought everyone had a chance to get in it appears they only ment America, European are still down 🙁
I pre-ordered the physical CE edition back when they were first available and didn’t receive an early access e-mail. I’m not sure what they based their criteria on for picking people for the full 7 day early access.
@Imelix
Although the server status page does not show it the EU servers are in fact UP according to official Bioware Tweets.
Awh that sucks man >> I just got my email so I’ll see everyone when they get in 🙂
Scratch that. I just got my e-mail 5 minutes ago. lol
I preordered in october will I have a code? None yet? How is everyone finding it who is in! X
I only ordered 5 days after it was available, and I didn’t make the first wave? That sucks for the folks who ordered in Oct-Nov…
Try logging in to the client guys even if you didnt get the email… level 1 Sith Warrior named Darth right now, you jelly?
Been trying that, I still get the “No subscription” message on the bottom. Wow, they gave you Darth? I thought that would be a reserved word.
Hey, you get the no subscribtion message? Mine says account or password incorrect. WTF?
Have you logged in and set up the security questions and changed your password since they did the security “audit” where everyone had to change it? It actually made me change mine twice, which was annoying.
I get the “no subscription” message as well.
Does that mean I’m not going to get in today then? :/
If you had registered your pre-order code on the swtor website, set up security questions, then you may have received an e-mail entitled “Your Saga Begins”. Again, I don’t truly know the criteria to qualify to get this e-mail.
Inside the e-mail there’s a button to “Get Started”, thereby activating your account for use with the game launcher, so until you activate your account you won’t have early access.
Unfortunately for me, I’m at work, or I wouldn’t even be writing this message.
Still nothing…sad face 🙁
I registered my pre-order code on the second day, 7/22/11. Only reason for second day was because gamestop took that long to respond with my code. I still have yet to recieve an email to let me in to early access. 🙁
I hope I get it soon.
oh, well be happy then, i preorderd imediatly, but got the preorder kit thru the mailbox a week later orso… august 2
so yeah, guess i’ll have to be patient 🙂
Yeah registered my code on the 23rd so we will see, hopefully it comes before I go to work
But I don’t want to be patient. I want to play!! :p
Patience is for pansies and golfers…well they are both pansies but yes, NO MOAR PATIENCE!!!
Woot…here I go….yea!!!
Good luck all 🙂
HELL YEA 3rd wave out got mines deuces
How far spaced are the waves?
Thank you for all this months. I hope we will continue to be great community. And as I said millions of time : Keep on the good work 🙂
From what I know, its based off of when you input the early access code on the website, not the date of purchase. Also, people getting in is based on the quantity of people, not the preorder date. The reason it’s taken so long to get through the first day of people is simply because there were a buttload of preorders on that day. I heard somewhere between 200,000 and 500,000 on SWTOR’s sight.
Thank you Serge and Nada for all your hard work, it is much appreciated for sure! 🙂
