Greetings everyone! The patch notes for this week’s server maintenance are now live, and it is quite a long list this time around. You can read all of the notes from this week after the jump. Continue Reading »
Greetings all, it’s time for another edition of the Community Q&A. This week the developers talk about the story decisions behind one of the Sith Warrior companions (you have to be logged in to see due to spoilers), discuss character mergers in respect to the Legacy System, and touch on a few crafting questions. You can find all the questions and answers from this week after the jump. Due to the spoilers associated with the Sith Warrior question it will be omitted, but you can find the question and answer over at this week’s Community Q&A post. Continue Reading »
Another Friday, another Q&A session between the developers and the community. This week we found out about some more features that may be included in the game at a later date (such as a mentoring system and some guild leader functionality), got some economy questions answered, learned the hows and whys of the companions, and a whole bunch more.
You can find all of this week’s questions and answers after the jump. If you want to submit a question to BioWare head over to the official forums and leave your question with the developers. Who knows, you may just find your question among those that are tackled next Friday! Continue Reading »
Servers went down, servers came back up, and we were presented with a nice healthy amount of patch notes for our trouble. There were a lot of little fixes in this weeks maintenance, and some little quality of life improvements as well. Almost all areas of the game have been hit with some fixes this week, not surprising since the game has needed some bugs ironed out since the release of 1.2.
Check after the jump for the full list of patch notes this week, and let us know your thoughts on them in the comments section below. Continue Reading »
Friday, oyu are indeed an amazing day. it’s the herald of the weekend, a day for fun with friends and family, and of course the day that the team over at BioWare takes the time to answer some of the community’s questions about SWTOR. This week the developers answer some questions about future game events, dual spec, a groupfinder, character transfers, crafting crit chances, and a whole slew of other topics.
As usual there is a bunch of great info that comes out of these weekly Q&A sessions that make it worth every SWTOR player’s time to check out the full article. Some of the future features are subject to change of course, but getting a little insight into what the team is working on for future content is always awesome. You can read all of this week’s questions and answers after the jump, and we would love to hear your thoughts on them in the comments below. Continue Reading »
Ah Firday, day of my most favorite thing ever on the SWTOR forums: the Community Q&A. Questions answered this week have actually been gathered from two weeks ago, but they are no less relevant on the current game state. I always love it when I see a game company opening up direct communication with their fans, so kudos to BioWare for taking the time out even during busy weeks like this one must be in order to reach out to the community.
This week’s Community Q&A was all about the developers bringing players the answers to some of the most burning 1.2 questions they have come across, and boy did they deliver. This week’s article is chock full of all kinds of 1.2 goodness, including what has been my favorite response to a question since the Q&A articles began:
Aymi: You guys are including a whole bunch of things to motivate us to reroll and unlock stuff through Legacy, but if I’m playing on one server because the community is great, I’ll be limited to eight characters. You said during the Guild Summit you were going to think about it at some point, any update on that?
Daniel Erickson: We are 100% committed to providing more character slots per server in the future but unfortunately we’re not ready to talk about how that will work.
This is great news for players like me who have already used up all 8 character slots but have no interest in switching servers. Outside of that little gem there is still a metric ton of great info in the article, including a huge answer from Georg Zoeller about how gear and reverse engineering is going to work in 1.2.
Head on over to the official SWTOR site and read the article at your earliest opportunity. You will not regret it. And as always feel free to share your thoughts on everything with us in the comments section below!
Comments Off on March 30th Community Q&A: A 1.2 Discussion
Today William Wallace, Senior Game Designer for SWTOR, posted a nice long Developer Blog talking all about the Legacy System. Players who have been following the development of the Legacy System and all the news since the Guild Summit may find a lot of the info presented here to be a re-hash of what they have heard before, but there are a few new gems of information placed in there to make it worth a read for even the most dedicated TOR player.
Along with going over some of the new features we can expect Mr. Wallace also talks about the design philosophy behind some of the choice BioWare has made about the features they want to make available to players. Are you curious as to why Smugglers may be Force Choking their way to victory during their quests? Maybe you want to know how an Inquisitor can be calling down Orbital Strikes from the Imperial Fleet? Well all this is touched on by Mr. Wallace.

It’s Friday and that means it is time for one of my favorite new things BioWare is doing these days, Community Q&A. They managed to go over 10 questions again this week, another trend I would like to see continued, and answered a range of questions from implementing a LFG tool, improving end game usefulness of crafting skills, and even touched briefly on the chance the players will be able to customize their current ships or get new ones. (Hint: Don’t expect it anytime soon.)
You can find all the questions answered this week after the jump. If you have a question you would like to ask the development team post it over at the official forums in this weeks Official Q&A Thread. Continue Reading »
Tonight via the @SWTOR account on twitter I was made aware that Bioware is advertising a sneak peek at the Friday update, a Developer Dispatch having to do with companions.
It is a great one in my opinion, over seven minutes of some of the developers talking about companions and the mechanics revolving around them. Such people as James Ohlen, Daniel Erickson, Georg Zhoeller, and more make this one of my favorite dev dispatches to date.
It is an interview done by Gamespot, very well done and full of information indeed. It talks about customization options, companions with levels and the ability to level them, and many more goodies. If you haven’t seen it yet I highly recommend going to see it or you could just wait till tomorrow……..
