This week’s patch notes are as plentiful as last week’s notes, not surprising as we are still seeing some of the bugs from 1.2 hanging around. There are also some nice little quality of life features added, such as players reviving a “Timed Run” buff when attempting Eternity Vault or Karagga’s Palace on Nightmare Mode in order for them to better track the time needed to defeat them in order to gain the special titles.
You can find all of this week’s notes after the jump. Continue Reading »
Servers went down, servers came back up, and we were presented with a nice healthy amount of patch notes for our trouble. There were a lot of little fixes in this weeks maintenance, and some little quality of life improvements as well. Almost all areas of the game have been hit with some fixes this week, not surprising since the game has needed some bugs ironed out since the release of 1.2.
Check after the jump for the full list of patch notes this week, and let us know your thoughts on them in the comments section below. Continue Reading »
Another Tuesday, another round of scheduled server maintenance. This week’s patch notes are filled with a bunch of quality of life fixes, such as being able to properly add offline players to your friends list, as well as some class damage changes, like Gunslingers and Snipers receiving a 5% damage boost to several abilities.

The servers were down for an unscheduled maintenance last night in order to get in a couples fixes players have been experiencing since the launch of 1.2. This is not the first time the servers have gone down unexpectedly since 1.2, but it’s important to realize that this is not unusual. Whenever a big update like we saw with 1.2 gets deployed there will inevitably be a few bugs that seek through that need some TLC. While there is always the hope that these unscheduled maintenance periods are a rare occurrence, it is at least good to know that the development team is hard at work keeping SWTOR up and working for us. Here are the patch notes from last night’s maintenance:
1.2.0c Patch Notes
4/19/2012
General
- Corrected an audio issue that could cause a loud, perpetual “jet engine” sound that is most noticeable on the Republic and Imperial Fleets.
- Corrected a rare issue that could cause players to be unable to access their guild.
Classes and Combat
Bounty Hunter
Mercenary
- Heatseeker Missile: This ability will now only gain extra damage from your additional stacks of Heat Signatures and will not incorrectly detect debuffs from other players.
Trooper
Commando
- Demolition Round: This ability will now only gain extra damage from your additional stacks of Gravity Vortex and will not incorrectly detect debuffs from other players.
World Event
- Jeelvic the Jawa will no longer take more DNA samples than intended for purchases.
- Players who were not properly granted final event codex entry and title for defeating Infected Trapjaw, Zama Brak, and Urtagh will be granted both the title and codex entry.
PvP
- Increased rewards for players on the losing side of Warzone matches.
- Players will now receive rewards for Warzones if they have earned at least one medal.
Both the servers and the website went down this week for the weekly maintenance. The servers were nothing special, oh we got a couple of patch notes but there was not real big changes included in them.
1.2.0b Patch Notes
4/17/2012
General
- An issue that prevented players from receiving the final Codex entry for the event has been corrected. Players that previously defeated Urtagh but did not receive the Codex entry and associated title will need to defeat the boss again in order to obtain it.
Items
- Tionese and Centurion gear have had their stats corrected to pre-update 1.2 values.
No, the big news with this update was the fantastic new design for the official SWTOR site.
The new site design is much sleeker and, dare I say, sexier than the old design. After looking at the same design for years it is nice to see it get a little love, and there are a bunch of little touches that make it look really nice. The inclusion of the in-game icons next to the available categories was ingenious, and it really was a great upgrade.
What do you think of the new site? Let us know in the comments section below!
If there is one thing we can say about the past four server updates it is this; the patch notes are pretty slim. This week the downtime was extended from five hours to seven hours, but only a single patch note graced the patch notes page.
1.1.5e Patch Notes
4/3/2012
General
- Updated several areas in order to increase general server stability.
But that is not the most exciting news from BioWare today. It was announced that they have finally posted the remainder of the Guild Summit panel to their Youtube page, finally making the session available for those who were unable to watch the events unfold. If you are interested in watching the summit in its entierty, or just want to see a few sessions that are of particular interest to you, head over to the official SWTOR Youtube page. All the different session have their own dedicated video, so feel free to choose to watch only what interests you. And, as always, feel free to let us know what you think in the comments section below!
PioWare relapsed the Patch Notes for 1.1.5 yesterday. Among the usual general bug fixes there were some updates included to get players ready for game update 1.2, as well as the inclusion of the much sought after /roll function.
Several high-end speeders have been reduced in price until 1.2, making this the optimum time to pick up that expensive speeder you had you eye one. Previously unavailable endgame color crystals are also on sale for a limited time at the fleet, and the Dark/Light side requirements on some crystals have been removed as well. Word is that these items will only be available for purchase until update 1.2 is deployed, so head to the fleet and pick them up today while you still can.
There have been several changes to the PvP game as well. Now players can compete in Warzones and earn progress towards completing their Ilum daily and week quests. Healers will also be happy to hear that they will start receiving medals when a target they healed makes a kill in game. The Valor gained from Warzones has been increased, medals are now worth 500 Valor and 10 Commendations, and players affected by Damage Over Time abilities will no longer be interrupted when interacting with objectives.
These are only a small sampling of the changes made in the recent patch. If you want to read all of this week’s notes you can check them all out after the jump. Continue Reading »
The patch notes from the 1.1.4 update are now posted over at swtor.com. Amid the usual bug a glitch fixes are a few special updates that players should be pleased with.
The has been an update to some boss mechanics in both the Eternity Vault and Karagga’s Palace. When fighting Soa during the Eternity Vault players will notice that Soa no longer lost threat against his primary target when he casts a Mind trap, and the G4-B3 Heavy Fabricator now has fewer hit point in Karagga’s Palace normal mode. In warzones the queue interface exploit that allowed players to bring extra players into a warzone has been fixed. There is still a chance that imbalances can occur, but players will no longer be able to intentionally trigger the exploit. Also the bug that would cause the east turret in the Alderaan Civil War warzone to sometimes fire twice when captured by the Imperials has been fixed as well.
One of the biggest additions with this patch is the promised ability for players to control the appearance of their cooldown animations.. This of course comes as a welcome addition for most players after some displeasure was expressed with the last two cooldown animation updates. Players can now control if they would like their abilities to a flash when the finish a regular or global cooldown, change the art style of the cooldown animations, and chose to toggle cooldown time text on top of the ability icon in the quickbar.
For all the notes on this and previous patches make sure to visit the Patch Notes page over at swtor.com.
The patch notes for 1.1.3 are now up. No major changes were made this week outside of the general fixing of bugs and tweaking of abilities., though PvP enthusiasts will be happy to know they will no longer not receive credit for winning a match when the first player to enter a Warzone leaves before the match is over. The Surge stat has also been rebalanced and now reaches diminishing returns the same way as other damage ratings, and its per point damage contribution has been reduced by approximately 10%.
You can read the full list of notes here.
Tomorrow is Tuesday and you know what that means, it’s time for some weekly SWTOR maintenance. As usual the servers are scheduled to go down starting at 2AM CST (12AM PST/3AM EST/8AM GMT/9AM CET) and are scheduled to be back up again by 6AM CST (4AM PST/7AM EST/12PM GMT/1PM CET).
The current Public Server 1.1.3 patch is what we can expect to see updated during the maintenance time, but we will not know for sure until the official patch notes are posted. Keep in mind that the servers could always be back up sooner or later than the scheduled start up time depending on how the maintenance goes. If the time frame should change for any reason we shall let you know.
