A troll may struggle with it, but a Gundark can do it!
So we have seen the easy ones here, now lets see about something that may take, if not more time, a bit more brain power.
The following few recipes are ones my family enjoys. We tend to make popovers for breakfast when we have a bunch of guests, and if we are having a party we tend to make deviled eggs. I am going to type out one of the recipes, but there are a total of three that we will use interchangeable.
Popovers from @dawnrose ‘s Mom
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Butter, jam, syrup or honey, for serving
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Grease 12 large muffin tin cups or 12 custard cups. Break the eggs into a bowl and beat well. Add the milk, flour, and salt, and beat until just blended. Fill the muffin tin cups or custard cups 3/4 full with the batter. Place the pan on the center rack in the oven. Bake for 30 minutes without opening the oven door.
Serve the popovers hot with butter, jam, syrup, or honey.
Classic Deviled Eggs #1 , #2, #3
The filling of this recipe is on the firm side. Add a tad more mayo if you would like it a bit softer.
6 hard-cooked eggs, peeled and cut lengthwise ¼ cup Light Mayonnaise or Salad Dressing ½ teaspoon dry ground mustard ½ teaspoon white vinegar 1/8 teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper Paprika for garnishPop out (remove) the egg yolks to a small bowl and mash with a fork. Add mayonnaise, mustard powder, vinegar, salt and pepper and mix thoroughly. Fill the empty egg white shells with the mixture and sprinkle lightly with paprika.
Cover lightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to one day before serving.
I also want to include a nice holiday recipe.
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 15-oz. can pumpkin
- 1 c. sugar
- 12-oz. can evaporated milk
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 t. ground ginger
- 1/4 t. ground cloves
- 18-1/4 oz. pkg. spice cake mix
- 3/4 c. butter, thinly sliced
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- Optional: 16-oz. can cream cheese frosting
In a large bowl, beat eggs and pumpkin together. Blend in sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla and spices.
Pour into a greased 13″x9″ baking pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over top of batter. Dot with butter slices, making sure to place some in corners of pan.
Sprinkle pecans over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Cool; frost, if desired, and cut into bars.
Makes 12 to 16 servings.
Of course if you have more easy, or just tasty recipes you would like to share….
